This post represents a culmination of sorts from all I’ve learned about HTML and CSS in these past few weeks. The foundation of this post is a template that was sourced from W3schools.com. I manipulated this pre-made template slightly in order to better match my website. The template is simple, as is the content of this blog.
Here are a few images from the original template:

I first modified this template by changing the header names to reflect content that was more relevant to me. I also changed the color of the header background from red to green. The “get started” button was removed because although I liked its placement and potential utility, it did not make sense for my personal blog.
Following this, I decided to replace the smaller images of the anchor and coffee cup with images that better illustrate the type of content the blog contains (or could potentially contain). I chose 2 images, one representing food from my personal image collection, and one representing “web technologies” which I sourced from online. This required completely eliminating some tags in order to keep a relatively aesthetically pleasing format, and adding in image tags. I made sure to include the correct file path as the images are saved on my personal computer.
The last thing I did was change the paragraph text and paragraph subheadings to display an “intro” about the blog’s content rather than dummy text.
A sample of the HTML script modifications is as follows:
